Berkeley Architectural Library for students. The design studio with all the needs for education.
A library is a place where people are allowed to share thoughts, ideas, and knowledge; a place to discover new interests and to study the innovations that shape our world. This vision is translated into a building, a library in which the circulation is notable, and where there are areas where users may share knowledge, or host lectures, meetings or business gatherings.
Although the main users are architecture students and professors of Bay Area colleges and universities, a variety of people can work, do research and share knowledge through the circulation paths or in multiple areas in the building such as the cafe, auditorium/gallery, or the roof deck which offers views of several impressive surrounding buildings. This building is designed for design-devotees and our future architects, giving them spaces to shape our world.
